To make the action designed believable, acting them out is the best way for our animator to structure the action sequence and animation timing. We recorded down footage acted by our artists as reference, and also explored more options for the fighting choreography.

As we always emphasize on the importance of 2d animatic and 3d previs. Making sure we get the more accurate timing and camera angle we find appropriate, so that an efficient pipeline can be fulfilled.
However, this time we went to the extend of pushing the 3d previsualization even more detailed. By doing so, our animators got to work on the actual animation more efficiently and at ease. As you can relate the 3d previs with the final rendered clip, the animation and timing is already very close.
